Empowering students of G.C.E. A/L -2014 in selected Zones in Eastern Province

The term student empowerment was deliberately chosen to emphasize the importance of educating all students to become aware of the syllabus, the method of answering questions, answering practical questions for the G.C.E.A/L. This goal can be achieved by encouraging students to work together, practice using their skills, and develop their own leadership qualities.

 

Considering the needs of the children in Thirukkovil and Batticaloa Zones, Aaruthal in collaboration with the Thondamanaru  Field Work Centre organized a seminar for the G.C.E A/L Students facing the exam in August 2014 in  Batticaloa and Thirukkovil Zones. The Field Work Centre helped to arrange the resource persons who are experts in Chemistry, Physics, Biology and Combined Mathematics to conduct the seminar and agreed to meet the expenses.

The seminar was conducted on 16^th and 17^th in Batticaloa and in 18^th and 19^th in Thirukkovil.

Objectives of the Workshop:

• Give awareness to the students on how to answer the questions
• Become aware about practical sessions
• Familiar with the MCQ questions
• Help to collect new information and ideas
• Clear their doubts and problems
• Opportunity to share their experiences with the resource persons
